Scarbo
Brussels based saxophone quartet Scarbo, derived from the poem by Aloysius Bertrand about a small fiend hiding in the dark, reappearing at his own desire.

After each having completed a unique international trajectory, Pieter Pellens, Nele Tiebout, Bart Van Beneden and Asagi Ito found a common passion for music and the arts.

With Brussels as their hideout, they use the versatility of the saxophone to colaborate with artists and composers. With stellar dancer Yuika Hashimoto (part of Anne Teresa Dekeersmaecker's company ROSAS) they created the interdisciplinary performance Pagine which they performed in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Scarbo brings together four distinct cultural and artistic backgrounds and tries to create a climate of creativity and interaction.

duo Decraemer - Tiebout
Saxophonist Nele Tiebout and pianist Sylvie Decramer found each other in a desire to share their love for music and to bring people together through art.
They don’t want to check just one box but engage in all music they love to play and find worth sharing. In order to tell a musical story in their programs, they don't want to check just one box but engage in different styles of music, ranging from well known repertoire to unknown discoveries, transcriptions and original work, classical and contemporary music.
They followed similar trajectories; after growing up in West-Flanders, they both started their higher education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. With an inquisitive mind and driven by the enticement of new experiences and learning, they decided to study abroad.
Sylvie went to Berlin to continue her studies at the Universität der Künste and to specialize in song accompaniment at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler with Björn Lehmann, Fabio Bidini, Wolfram Rieger and Eric Schneider. Sylvie felt as if she was living a fairy-tale musically, with the guidance of these renowned pianists and song accompanists, as well as in her surroundings, strolling through the traditional Weinachtsmärkte with all its charms.
Nele moved to Paris to study with the recognized saxophonist and pedagogue Vincent David at the CRR of Versailles and to savor the French baguettes.
The first time they played together was at a teachers concert of a Muzikamp summer course. They felt an immediate connection and a two-way desire to repeat this which led to the creation of the duo.
Sylvie and Nele want to take their audience on a musical journey full of colors, contrasts and emotions and want to surprise them with the versatility of classical saxophone/piano.
